 Minutes of Tutbury in Bloom Meeting held on 3rd Sept 2014 at Tutbury Institute

Minutes

The minutes from the previous meeting were agreed.

We have won Gold again along with a special award, The Quadrennial award from the Heart of England Ground Maintenance award for the closed Church yard and the award has been presented to Roger Sharp at the Church.

Judges Comments and Scoring.

Elms Lane

This is progressing and there is a meeting on 27.10.14 at 7.30pm. Elms Lane will be closed on 28.10.14 until 30.10.14.

Treasurers Report

£259 in the account and we have had a £60 donation from Tutbury Women's Institute.

Publicity

The awards Ceremony made it into the Burton Mail and we were in the arts group for October. There have been two articles in the October edition of the Parish Magazine and we are in the October / November issue of the Tutbury Village News.

25.10.14 -Bulb planting. Meet at the traffic island at 10am

31.10.14 -working party at Holts Lane 10am

7.11.14 - Working party at The Community Garden 10am

30.11.14 - Litter pick 2pm

The War Memorial also needs a tidy up before 11th November. Brian Wright will do this.

Wall Planters - These are now back in at the School. Sue has collected the hanging baskets back in and is aware of which ones are still to be collected. It was agreed that a rota for watering the baskets by the school was needed for next year.

AOB

Sue raised the point of what we would do with the money if TIB was to fold and explained that it is something that we need to think about.

Janice asked if we could try and include the school more this year. There is a new Head and it may be a nice idea to have some form of a competition. It was agreed that this was something to look at.
